About World Liberty Financial USD
USD1 is a dollar stablecoin launched in March 2025 by World Liberty Financial, a crypto company linked to the family of US President Donald Trump. Its reserves are held by the custodian BitGo.
USD1 is backed by short-term US Treasuries, dollar deposits and cash equivalents. It grew extremely fast after it was chosen to settle a $2 billion investment by Abu Dhabi's MGX in Binance in 2025, making it one of the quickest stablecoins ever to reach billions in supply.
Its political ties make USD1 one of the most debated stablecoins: supporters see an American stablecoin with institutional custody, critics point to potential conflicts of interest. As with any issuer-backed token, its safety depends on the reserves and on how they are reported.

What if you didn't want a peg?
Stablecoins copy the dollar — inflation included. Unstablecoins take the opposite bet: no peg, a fixed or shrinking supply and volatility on the label. See them in the live unstablecoin rankings.
